Ryanair is the largest low-cost airline in Europe, founded in 1985 in Ireland, currently operating from over 242 airports in 40 countries.

Ryanair has launched its operations at Sibiu International Airport since June 2021. Ryanair is the sixth air operator to choose to develop its operations at Sibiu International Airport, recognizing the region's potential at a time when the aviation industry is significantly affected by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In summer season 2022, Ryanair operates direct flights from Sibiu to Brussels Charleroi, Corfu, Dublin, Venice Treviso and Vienna.
